Let's create
My common thread? Making things, creating things. Preferably from scratch. And then for me it starts with wonderful daydreaming, letting go of your thoughts completely and arriving at a new idea or conclusion via the branch and the heel. If it doesn't work there, inspiration comes through the wonderful world we live in. Seeing new ideas in everyday things. I try to go through life according to the motto: Genius is to carry the spirit of the child into old age. Go through life with the wonder and appreciation you once had as a child, don't take anything for granted.
As a child, I loved nothing more than building with K'nex, discovering different ways, coming up with different structures. Delightful. As a "plant mom," I draw on this as well: from each cutting you can make a new full-fledged plant that can bloom all the way open. And in my new hobby of pottery, this comes out even more. Starting by kneading a piece of clay, perfecting the shape, testing with glaze, maybe breaking a few lines and then starting again with clay for the next piece of art.
Let's talk personal
Describing myself is not so easy. That's why I like to use some quotes from friends, family and colleagues. A modern hippie. A cozy aunt you want to have coffee with - or tea is fine too. Enthusiastic, idealistic and spontaneous. Maybe even impulsive at times. For the personality theory fans: I'm yellow. Very yellow. ENFPs for the win 😉
If I really have to take a stab at describing myself, I'll go with this: A cross between a Millennial and a GEN Z trying to do her own bit to make for a more beautiful world. And someone who can enjoy every valuable piece in the world, be it from a new coffee mug, a catchy ad to a successful brunch. Perhaps one last addition: always hungry to learn. To learn more about something or about someone. Tell me more, please!
Let's talk marketing
A logical step really, because in marketing you also do nothing but create. Content, copywriting, ads, emails, strategy: it's all creation, inventing and creating yourself. And in marketing you can, no you must always keep learning. New channels, new possibilities in existing channels, new ways to reach people.
My first official steps in marketing? While studying communications management, I became part of a product launch team, with my focus on creating brand awareness through POS materials and social media content and social media advertising. After graduation, I was able to immediately start working in an international B2B company in the FMCG industry as a marketing and communications manager. Here I learned an awful lot about marketing, R&D, other cultures and corporate structures. It was time for a new challenge: the wonderful world of publishing. As brand marketer, digital marketer, product owner of the webshop and product owner of the website, I was able to further develop and challenge many of my talents.
After 2 years of sitting with my nose in the books, it once again felt time to take on a new challenge. Time for new people, new stories and new perspectives. And so the next step in my career became "agency life. A conscious choice: lots of variety, different sectors, different areas of expertise. What gets me hot? Let me discover the secrets of Google Ads, crack the codes of social media advertising, unearth the tips and tricks for the best content, unravel the mysteries of marketing automation and email marketing.
How proud I am to be part of the marketing world. AND just that little bit extra proud to be part of the Digitong team.
And now I'm enormously curious about you. What drives you? Why do you do what you do? Tell me over a delicious tea and vegan brownie.
