SME Portfolio

The SME portfolio is a subsidy measure that allows you as a small or medium-sized enterprise to fund part of your consulting and training.

What is the SME portfolio?

The SME portfolio is a grant measure with which you, as a small or medium-sized enterprise, can pay for part of your advice and training. Every year you can obtain up to € 7,500 in subsidies from the Flemish Government.

Digitong is a registered service provider of the Flemish Government within the framework of the SME portfolio. This gives you as an established enterprise or self-employed person in Flanders a subsidy of 20 or 30% on the cost price (according to the size of your company) When you get advice through a training, audit or workshop.

Some examples for which you can call on the SME portfolio;

  • Drafting a digital strategy or marketing plan or content strategy
  • Audit of a website, SEO, SEA, Social Advertising, Google Ads etc.
  • Completing training in SEO, SEA, Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, CRM, etc.
  • Following a Branding workshop
  • Going through the concept phase for a new website or web shop
  • Develop a channel strategy: what messages/target groups/channels and how to implement it?

 

Who can use the SME portfolio?

  • This subsidy can only be used by SMEs, liberal professions, self-employed and self-employed in secondary occupation. Working students can have their employer subsidize the training for them.
  • The grant is for the benefit of small and medium-sized enterprises.
  • The grant is for the benefit of establishments (and associated employees) located in the Flemish Region.
  • The grant is for the benefit of private sector enterprises .
  • The grant is for the benefit of businesses with an acceptable main activity. For example, a hairdresser can apply for the SME portfolio for a beauty care course; after all, she can use this knowledge in her business. Thus, a plumber would not be able to do so for this course, because no connection can be made between the nature of the training and the nature of the main activity.
  • Your company must be registered in the CBE at the time the training starts (and not e.g. a week after).

 

Double subsidization is not allowed. If a company has already received another concession through the government, it cannot be cumulated with the SME Portfolio.

How to register through the SME portfolio?

If you want to apply for the SME portfolio grant for the first time, you must first register your company on the online platform (INKOM). More info can be found at the website of Vlaio. 

How to apply through the SME Portfolio?

To submit a grant application, you must have a enter into an agreement or registration with a registered service provider. That is, you have a concrete agreement with Digitong about the training or counseling before you can apply. 

After registering for training or requesting an advisory report, you as an employer can submit an online project application for yourself or an employee to use the SME portfolio grant. You can select the service provider (Digitong) during this application using the registration number.
